Health and Social Care Services Care Providers West Yorkshire

About Spire Assist

At Spire Assist our mission is to ensure that as many children as possible have a happy childhood and a fulfilling journey leading to a beautiful outcome later in life. We achieve this by providing compassionate carers for private homes and councils and managing our own children's home in West Yorkshire.

We're passionate about children and aim to provide the highest levels of care that gives them the foundations they need to develop into adulthood. Great care can only be provided by great carers which is why we invest so much into our staff.

Each of our employees is rigorously vetted prior to assignments. All carers undergo extensive training and are dedicated to maintaining the highest levels of care. Most importantly, each individual at Spire Assist shares the same commitment to making children's lives better.

We are currently in the process of applying to the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We hope to have CQC accreditation in the very near future.

Meet Our Team

Uzair Mohiuddin Assoc. CIPD
Managing Director

Uzair began his career as a specialist in human resources management. He undertook consultancy work for the children’s social services department for a local authority and in the process found that there were several inconsistencies in the care that was being provided. So he sought to engage himself with the relevant qualifications and reintroduce appropriate foundations of care.

It came as natural progression that he set up an establishment to help young people leaving care and support them integrating with society having lived in the care system. He coached, trained and facilitated experienced staff for local authorities who needed specialist carers for young people. His success in the sector soon enabled Spire Assist to introduce their own supported accommodation to better engage and assist young people.

“My team and I are committed to making the lives of children better and equip them with the tools to overcome the challenges and obstacles they face, in a positive and productive way.”

Jane Westwood
Director Operations

Jane's experience stems from being a social worker for the first decade of her professional career. She expanded on her social work experience and set up an employability and coaching centre for young adults, helping them navigate through the obstacles and challenges of venturing into their first ever career oriented roles. Guiding them with identifying their core abilities and providing platforms for them to build on while teaching them life skills and helping them find their talents.

Her experience in the field of care consists of managing a healthcare agency and ensuring its smooth operation. Her strengths lie in communication and management and being passionate about helping people in care create better lives for themselves.

“I live my life and ambitions following a very simple but a powerful quote from Mother Teresa: It is not how much you do, but how much love you put in the doing. Leo Buscaglia, a famous author, once said that too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. We at Spire, carry that ethos from our hearts and aim to better the lives of every child and young person we engage with.”
